About Us

 ​SMART is an independent not-for-profit public benefit organization that aims to inform policy development and reduce alcohol- and drug-related harms to individuals, families and communities.

Where do I start?

Before treatment can begin, an assessment will be conducted with you and/or your loved one. Our addiction counsellors utilize a person-centered approach which is non-judgmental and nurturing.

What does an assessment cost? 

All screening and assessments are free of charge.

What should I bring?

• South African ID / driver’s licence or passport • Relevant doctor’s reports (if any) • Contact details of relevant doctors and significant others • Previous treatment discharge reports (if any) • Social Work/Psychologist referral letters (if any)
